Hood Streak Ends at Two with Loss to Ferrum
Hood saw its two-game winning streak end with a loss at home to Ferrum College (11-4) by the score of 10-6 Friday evening.

Coming out in the second half, Ferrum scored on a free position goal by Phylicia Garner. Hood began crafting their comeback and though Vu was out with a yellow card, Hood's Kelsey Blackwell scored a man-down goal off an assist by Lauren Perzan. With Vu back in the game, Blackwell scores again a minute later. Blazer Julia Banks adds a free position goal and Hood pulls within one, 7-6. Ferrum turned up the heat and scored three more times on goals by Hewartson, Garner, and Cara Jacobs to solidify the game, 10-6.
Hewartson led the scoring for Ferrum with four, Jacobs added three, Garner provided two, and AnnMichelle Bolt tallied one. The Blazers were led by Vu and Blackwell who both gave a pair, and Lawrence and Banks each had one. Ferrum outshot Hood 30-20 and Blazer goalie Sam Liptrap walked away with 10 saves.
The Blazers go on the road for a conference match-up against Stevenson University on Apr. 12. Start time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
