Skidmore Hands Vassar One-Goal Defeat

Vassar also came back from an 11-8 second half deficit with 15:23 to play. The Brewers got key goals from Feltch at 12:36, senior attack Larissa Lasko at 11:27 and then Morgan's game-tying goal at 4:03 to tie the game at 12-12. In that mix of goals was Feltch's second of the game with 8:39 to play that brought the Brewers within one goal, 12-11.

With Lasko scoring the second of her career-best three goals with 12 seconds remaining in the first period, the Brewers tied the game 7-7 at intermission. Lasko continued her scoring prowess, opening the scoring to start the second half with an assist coming from Pacheco that put Vassar up 8-7 for only the third time in the game.

Skidmore responded, however, scoring four straight goals, two coming from sophomore midfielder Lauren Madden for an 11-8 lead.

Back in its offensive rhythm, Vassar outshot Skidmore 32-22 in the game, but all of the Thoroughbreds scoring attempts were on goal. In the game, the Brewers were unable to convert on their free position shots, going 1-8 compared to Skidmore's 3-5 effort.

The Brewers got three goals from Warner, all in the first half, and had seven different players figure into the scoring column. Junior goalie Nicole Engelhardt had nine saves against the 22 shots .

Madden had four goals for Skidmore. Senior midfielder Abbie Klaus had three goals, a critical tally coming at the 11:07 mark that put the Thoroughbreds ahead 12-10. Segalas chipped in with two goals. Skidmore goalie Rachel Klein had 10 saves.
