No. 7 Gettysburg Holds Down Haverford for CC Victory

HAVERFORD, Pa. Senior goalkeeper Kristen Krammer (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) tied a season high with a dozen saves and senior Hollis Stahl (Hightstown, N.J./Peddie School) turned in four goals and two assists to lead the seventh-ranked Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team to a 12-3 victory at Haverford College Saturday afternoon.

Gettysburg (11-2, 5-0 CC) retained its unbeaten mark in the Centennial Conference against a Haverford (10-2, 3-2 CC) team that entered Saturday's game with only one loss on its resume this spring. Led by Krammer, who tied the school's all-time record for wins, the Bullets held the Fords to a season-low three goals, while forcing the hosts into a season-high tying 25 turnovers.

The score was deadlocked at one less than three minutes into the game as Gettysburg senior Nina Emala (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) and Haverford's Alexa Pesce tossed in opening goals for their respective teams. The stalemate lasted another 10 minutes until the Orange and Blue senior class took over as Stahl, Emala, Jessica Crane (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury), Lauren Woodman (Denver, Colo./Kent Denver) and Lexie Hearn (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) combined for the next nine goals. Stahl had a hand in six of those tallies, including her fourth and final goal which made it 10-1 with 27:15 left to play in the game.

After making three stops in the opening period, Krammer added nine in the second to tie her season mark set earlier in the year against Muhlenberg College. She improved to 51-14 inside the Bullet cage for her career, tying her with 2004 graduate Liz Borucki for the most wins in school history.

Stahl's six-point day moved her just two points shy of becoming the seventh Gettysburg player with 200 career points. Emala finished with three goals and one assist, while Hearn posted two goals and one helper. Junior Marnie Commins (Fairfax Station, Va./Robinson) doled out three helpers and scooped up three ground balls for the visitors.

Next up for Gettysburg is a conference showdown at Dickinson College (6-3, 3-2 CC) on Wednesday, April 14, at 4:30 p.m.
