Notre Dame (OH) Slides Past Shepherd
LYNDHURST, Ohio – Jenn Morse scored five goals while Katie Christensen and Marisa Ranieri each added four to lead Notre Dame (OH) for a 20-4 win over Shepherd University in women's lacrosse action at Notre Dame on Saturday.
Freshman Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, MD/Century) led the Rams with two goals. Sophomore Carly Jones (Hagerstown, MD/Smithsburg) and classmate Cara Parks (Westminster, MD/Westminster) each tallied single goals.
Notre Dame had a 12-3 lead at the half.
Junior goalkeeper Karen Sutphin (Baltimore, MD/Eastern Technical) recorded seven saves for Shepherd (2-9), while Marissa Lundgren recorded a save for Notre Dame (7-4).
Notre Dame had a 33-8 advantage in shots while the Rams had a 10-9 edge in ground balls. Notre Dame was successful on 22 of 26 draw controls.
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to Lake Erie College for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
