Daniels, Allen Lead Maine-Farmington Past Thomas

FARMINGTON, Maine Amie Daniels (Lewiston, ME) tallied five goals and made two assists and Jess Allen (Mexico, ME) chipped in four goals as the University of Maine at Farmington women's lacrosse team scored a 15-12 victory over Thomas College in North Atlantic Conference East Division action this afternoon.

The Beavers (3-3 overall, 2-1 in the NAC East) are scheduled to visit Vermont this weekend to face Green Mountain Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and Castleton Sunday at noon. The Terriers (2-6, 0-3) are slated to host Husson on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

Jessie LaCasse (Barnstable, MA) bagged a hat trick for Farmington with Corinne Vierkant (Stow, MA) contributing a goal and two helpers and Alyssa Neptune (Readfield, ME) and Anna Rerrick (South Portland, ME) each scored a goal.

Kiley Jolicoeur (Oakland, ME) led all goal scorers with seven tallies for Thomas with Ceara Dibiase (Westbrook, ME) adding three goals and Meg Denby (Copiague, NY) two goals and an assist.

Jolicoeur netted a pair of goals in a four-goal stretch for the Terriers to give the visitors a 6-4 lead with 2:48 left in the first half, but Allen and Rerrick each cashed in free-position shots to tie the game at 6-6 at the break..

Daniels scored a pair of unassisted goals and fed Allen for a score over the first 3:28 of the second half to give Farmington a 9-6 advantage. The lead ballooned to 15-10 with 4:41 remaining in the contest as the Beavers went on to the 15-12 victory.

Andrea Knox (North Waterboro, ME) and Ashley Wentworth (North Berwick, ME) shared netminding duties. Knox and Wentworth each made four saves as the Beavers outshot the Terriers 40-23.

Teshia Cates (Skowhegan, ME) stopped 11 shots for Thomas.
