Merchant Marine Sunk by No. 8 Connecticut College

Rookie midfielder Stephen Eicher (Northport, N.Y.) chipped in with two scores. Andrew Berry (Moorestown, N.J.) and John Lyons (Barrington, R.I.) both contributed with a goal and an assist for the Camels.

Sophomore Rob Moccia (Malvern, Pa.) stopped 17 of 21 shots in another strong performance between the pipes.

United States Merchant Marine Academy sophomore midfielder Adam Jerlow (Parker, Colo.) scored three goals to lead the hosts. Junior attackman Zach Gray (Scituate, Mass.) chipped in with two scores for the Mariners. Brian Flannery (North Massapequa, N.Y.) dished out four assists in the setback.

Senior net-minder Keegan Boyle (Wilbraham, Mass.) made eight saves in the loss for the Mariners.

The Camels built a 4-1 lead after one quarter of action and were on top 7-2 after Dachille found the back of the net with 4:51 remaining in the second quarter. But Gray scored twice in the closing 3:41 of the half and the Mariners had trimmed the deficit to 7-4 at the intermission.

The Camels will host #6 Tufts University Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. game between the two remaining undefeated teams in the NESCAC.
