Delaware Tech Dominates the NJCAA Stats

DOVER, DE (April 14, 2010)-With just a few regular season games left in the schedule, Delaware Tech Men's Lacrosse team is dominating the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) statistics. Currently, several players hold first place honors in four different categories including scoring, assists, total points and saves.

"We have played a very difficult schedule against some of the top talent in the country so it is very rewarding to see some of these players being recognized by the NJCAA," said John Coveleski, Delaware Tech Athletic Director and Lacrosse coach.

Ryan Gray (Middletown) is number one in goals with 47 goals and also in total points earned with 65 (a combination of goals and assists), Team Captain Brynn Wiedenmann (William Penn) is number one in assists with 38 and Kyle Fry (Brandywine), new to the goalie position this year, leads the country in saves with 172. In addition to the top spots, Scott Brozey (Cape Henlopen) is sixth place in goals scored with 33 and 21st in total points earned with 40 while Weidenmann was also recognized for total points in fifth place earning 51.

"These individual accomplishments demonstrate that we are on our way to our ultimate goal of being one of the top ten teams in the country," said Coveleski. "We are competing against nationally-ranked programs and Delaware Tech players are right there with them."
