Shepherd Can't Keep Pace at Kenyon
GAMBIER, Ohio – Emily Nichols, Sewell Robinson, and Trina Rennie each had three goals to lead Kenyon College to a 19-5 win over Shepherd University in women's lacrosse action at Kenyon on Saturday.
Freshman Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, MD/Century) led the Rams with a pair of goals. Junior Lindsay Russell (Emmitsburg, MD/Catoctin), sophomore Nikki Fusco (Mechanicsville, MD/Chopticon), and freshman Brooke Jones (Odenton, MD/Arundel) each tallied a goal. Carly Jones (Hagerstown, MD/Smithsburg) had the team's only assist.
Kenyon had a 10-1 lead at the half. They had a 43-12 advantage in shots and a 22-10 edge in ground balls.
Junior goalkeeper Karen Sutphin (Baltimore, MD/Eastern Technical) recorded 11saves for Shepherd (2-11), while Chase Kreuter had three saves for Kenyon (10-1).
The Rams return to action on Monday, when they travel to Tiffin for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
