St. Mary's Downs Wesley in CAC Tourney First Round

The Seahawks stretched the lead to six, 10-4, after a score by Brendan Oster with 8:44 on the clock in the third quarter. Wesley, however, scored three of the next four goals, including a pair by Pisacano, and cut the lead back to four, 11-7, entering the fourth period.

The Wolverines still trailed by just four, 12-8, after a Justin D'Alonzo (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) score with 11:45 to go in the game, but the St. Mary's defense limited Wesley to six turnover and only three shots over the remainder of the contest.

Pisacano scored three goals to lead the Wolverines. Crumbock also had three points in the game, scoring twice and assisting on another score. D'Alonzo matched Crumbock's two goals.

Michael McQuarrie (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) led Wesley with six ground balls. Keven Lion (Westampton, N.J./Rancocas Valley) had four ground balls and forced three turnovers.

Matt Ryan (Tinton Falls, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) made seven saves in goal.

Billy Scheurer had three goals for the Seahawks, while Patrick Mull dished out four assists. Rosson added two goals and an assist and Michael Mules had two goals.

Albert Mitchell scooped up eight ground balls, while Peter Windsor added five for a St. Mary's team that held a 35-23 advantage in ground balls.

Stu Wheeler made three saves for the Seahawks in the first three periods before giving way to Pat Simpson at the start of the fourth quarter.
