Shepherd Falls at Frostburg in Season Finale
FROSTBURG, Md. – Freshman Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, MD/Century) scored a game-high four goals and added an assist, but Frostburg State handed Shepherd University a 19-6 loss in women's lacrosse action at Frostburg on Monday afternoon.
Junior Carly Jones (Hagerstown, MD/Smithsburg) and sophomore Kaitlin Drake (Ellicott City, MD/River Hill) each tallied a goal for the Rams.
Ali Kasputin and Chelsea Feeney had three goals each to lead Frostburg State. Jenny Davis added a game-high five assists for the Bobcats.
Junior goalkeeper Karen Sutphin (Baltimore, MD/Eastern Technical) recorded 11 saves for Shepherd, while Tori Butts (5) and Naomi Swann (2) combined for seven saves for the Bobcats.
Frostburg had a 32-19 advantage in shots and a 35-27 edge in ground balls. The Bobcats were 19 of 25 on clears, while the Rams were 10 of 12.
Shepherd completes its inaugural season with a 2-13 mark, while Frostburg State improves to 9-7.
