Maine-Farmington Scores at 0:07 to Nip Green Mountain

BANGOR, Maine -- Amie Daniels (Lewiston, ME) scored with just seven seconds left in the game to give the second-seeded University of Maine at Farmington women's lacrosse team a 12-11 victory over Green Mountain College in the North Atlantic Conference division semifinals action at Husson University's Boucher Field.

The Beavers improved to 5-6 and advance to the NAC East Championship on Sunday against No. 1 Husson. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. The Eagles ended their season with a 3-10 record.

Jessica Allen (Mexico, ME) led the scoring for Farmington with three goals, followed by Daniels, Kara Hudson (Wells, ME), Ashley Roderigue (Belgrade, ME) and Anna Rerrick (South Portland, ME) with two.

In goal for the Beavers, Andrea Knox (North Waterboro, ME) tallied 14 saves off 25 shots.

Daniels reached the scoreboard first with a free position goal. Bryanna Astor (Fy., Milltown, NJ) tied the game at one. Hudson scored a free position goal to reclaim the Beaver lead until Green Mountain's Celie Dagesse (So., St. Petersburg, FL) tied the game at 5-5. At halftime, Farmington led 8-6.

Green Mountain's Amanda Malkin (Barrylakes, NJ) and Astor scored the first two goals of the second half to tie the score at 8. The Beavers would score three unanswered goals only to see the Eagles battle back. With 19 seconds left on the clock, Astor scored a free position shot to knot the game at 11-11. With seven seconds left on the clock, Daniels scored on a free position goal to help Farmington to a 12-11 win.

Green Mountain was paced by Astor who recorded six goals on the loss. In goal for the Eagles, Kelsy Allan (Jupitor, FL) recorded 13 saves on 25 shots.
