Saint Andrew's Boys, Vero Beach Girls Win Florida Crowns

"Lake Highland proved it could hang with two-time defending state champion Boca Raton St. Andrew's, but in the end it was the Scots taking home another state championship.

"The Highlanders were down by two goals heading into the final quarter before St. Andrew's pulled away for a 14-8 victory in the FHSAA boys state lacrosse final Saturday at West Orange."

"Hobbled by an injured ankle and cramps, Lake Brantley's Caroline Lamere did all she could to go out with a state championship.

"The senior scored her second goal of the game with 18 seconds left to pull her team within a goal of state power Vero Beach, but the Fighting Indians held on for a 10-9 victory over the Patriots in the FHSAA girls state lacrosse final Saturday at West Orange."
