Saint Anselm Rally Falls Short in Home Loss to Bentley

Bentley dominated the third quarter, outscoring their hosts 5-2. The teams traded goals over the first three minutes, with senior Kevin Gould (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) scoring for the Falcons and Matt O'Connell striking for Saint Anselm.

After O'Connell's goal though, Bentley reeled off four straight. Senior Addi Van Hatcher (Tigard, Ore./Oregon Episcopal) scored at the 7:07 mark for an 8-5 lead. After a four-minute lull, the Falcons then scored three times in less than a minute. Junior Matt Boilard (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug) scored first, followed by two in a row from Grant for an 11-5 lead.

Grant netted his fifth of the day, a man-up goal, with 4:30 left in the fourth quarter.

The Falcons improve to 8-3 overall and 7-2 in the NE-10 with the win. Saint Anselm falls to 7-6 overall and 5-4 in the conference. Bentley will be at least the four-seed in the NE-10 Tournament, and will be the three seed with a win over Adelphi in the regular season finale, which is Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.
