Westfield State Chops Down Elms on Senior Night

WESTFIELD, Mass. Junior Rachel Dionne (Feeding Hills) scored a game-high six points (4 goals, 2 assists) as Westfield State closed out its regular season with an 18-1 women's lacrosse victory over Elms College on Senior Night, Friday, April 30.

Westfield finished its regular season with an 11-3 record, the best mark in the program's four-year history. The Owls are currently in first place in the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) with a 6-1 record. Bridgewater State and Castleton State are both 5-1 and conclude their NEWLA schedules on Saturday.

Sophomore Carly Keeley (Feeding Hills) had two points and two assists. Scoring two goals were: Laura Chiricosta, Ari Colella and reserves Devon Hatch and Abbey Crowell.

Westfield senior four-year starter Ally Brown contributed two assists and a game-high five draw controls in her final regular season home game. Amanda Aborn, Westfield's only other senior, was sidelined with an injury.

Westfield led winless Elms (0-15, 0-7) by a 13-0 halftime score. Chesley Grabowski (South Hadley) scored Elms' lone goal.
