Western Region Players of the Week, May 3

By Brett Manney

The Western Region players of the week include a goalie in Arizona who came up big and a goal-scorer in Colorado who's carrying his team to great heights.

Nicolas Peterson, Goalie, Phoenix Country Day (AZ)
Peterson was sharp in Eagles 10-6 win over Boulder Creek. The net minder finished the game with 16 saves including some crucial shots when Boulder creek was trying to mount a comeback. With a 63 save percentage this season, Peterson has done his job between the pipes for his squad.

Tyler Thorson, Attack, Monarch (CO)
Monarch has plenty of weapons, but it was Thorson who shined the brightest in their 16-3 win over Alexander Dawson. Thorson contributed seven points on four goals and three assist to pace the Coyotes to a win over their rival. An upcoming game against Rock Canyon (CO) lies ahead this week, and the Coyotes will need Thorson's hot hand to continue as the Coyotes seek their 14th win.
