Shipley School Wins Second Straight FSL Championship

The Shipley School boys' varsity lacrosse team 16-2 (7-0 FSL) took home their 2nd consecutive Friends Schools League championship with a convincing 12-5 win vs. visiting Academy of New Church today at Shipley's Farm Fields in Gladwyne. This win marks the 14th FSL win in a row for the Gators over a two-year span and the 33rd win in two years for the Shipley program, with only five loses during that time.

Shipley was led by junior Rutgers-bound middie Julius Mouser with 4g/1a, senior Nick Sterge with 1g/3a, sophomore middie Mike Litner with 2g/1a, and sophomore middie Evan Romano (who dominated face-offs along with Mouser) with 2g. Junior attacker Matt Gagnier had 2g and sophomore attacker Mac Gallagher had 2a. Junior middie E.J. Whyte tallied 1g, and freshman midfield-attacker Tyler Walsh added 1a.

Shipley broke a school record for goals in a season, eclipsing the 200-goal mark for charity/Haiti they set pre-season, reaching 206 goals for the year.
