Eastern Region Players of the Week, May 24

This week we examine a Kentucky midfielder helping his team to a state championship, an Ohio goalie thriving in the post-season, and a West Virginia attacker who might be the best player in the state.

Hayden Holbrook, Midfield, St. Xavier (KY)
The junior middie helped propel St. Xavier to its sixth state championship in the last 10 years. Holbrook netted three goals--earning game MVP honors as the Tigers knocked off arch rival Trinity 8-6.

Zach Stahl, Attack, Wheeling Central Catholic (WV)
Stahl solidified his mark as the best player in the state. The attackman scored his seventh goal of the game--with under 30 seconds to play--to give Wheeling Central the state championship with a 13-12 win over University. Stahl finished the season with 90 goals and 22 assists while being named the first All-American is the state's history.

Adam LaChappelle, Goalie, Gahanna (OH)
Despite the loss, LaChappelle shined in net. The senior maybe saved his best performance for last as he made 27 saves in Gahanna double overtime loss to St. Charles 11-10 in the regional tournament. Gahanna finished the season 11-8.
