Princeton Welcomes Men's Lacrosse Class of 2014

The Princeton men's lacrosse Class of 2014 will have the distinction of being the first recruiting class for head coach Chris Bates, who took over the program after the recruiting cycle for the Class of 2013 was completed.

The first class that Bates has brought in goes 10 deep and features players from schools like St. Anthony's, Chaminade, Hotchkiss, Landon and Georgetown Prep that have traditionally sent players to Princeton. This will also be the first Princeton class to have two players from Texas.

The team that these 10 players will join graduated 12 seniors from a year ago, including starters on attack (Rob Engelke), midfield (Scott MacKenzie) and defense (Jeremy Hirsch), as well as second midfielder Paul Barnes and shortstick defensive middies Jimmy Davis and Chris Chandler.

Princeton went 11-5 a year ago and won the first Ivy League tournament championship, as well as a share of the Ivy League's regular-season title.
