Navy Women's Lacrosse Announces Class of 2014

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The defending Patriot League Champion Navy women's lacrosse program and head coach Cindy Timchal announced today an incoming class of 10 freshmen. The newcomers represent Timchal's fourth full recruiting class and join a program with their sights set on a repeat trip to the NCAA Tournament.

"We are very excited about the incoming Class of 2014," said Timchal, the NCAA leader in career wins (379-98, .794). "We have some high-caliber athletes who have received a number of All-American honors. We expect this class to make an immediate impact on the program."

The talented group features four high school All-Americans, including a pair of two-time selections, and four Academic All-Americans. Six different states are represented and four players hail from Maryland.

Navy played its first season of varsity competition in 2008 and has since posted a 43-13 (.767) record over three seasons, highlighted by the 2010 NCAA Tournament Appearance, Patriot League Championship and a 17-4 mark.

The 2011 Mids will return nine starters and four of its top five scorers from a year ago.
