Harvard Lacrosse to Welcome 10 Newcomers for 2011

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. Chris Wojcik, the Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men's Lacrosse, has announced that 10 student-athletes will be joining the Crimson for the 2011 season.

Wojcik, who is entering his first season at the helm, will welcome four midfielders, three defenders, two attackmen and one goalkeeper to the fold, including seven student-athletes who earned US Lacrosse All-America honors. The newcomers also represent five states, most notably New York (five) and Massachusetts (three). One student-athlete hails from Minnesota, while another is a native of New Jersey.

"I am excited to welcome an outstanding class to Harvard and the lacrosse program," Wojcik said. (Former Harvard head coach) John Tillman and his staff recruited an excellent group of student-athletes, and I am looking forward to the class of 2014 arriving on campus later this month."

The Crimson will sport a 47-man roster for the upcoming campaign. Harvard posted a 6-6 overall mark in 2010 and has won at least six games for three straight seasons. Last spring, the team defeated No. 6 Princeton April 24, marking the first win for the Crimson against the Tigers since 1990, and the squad hosted Duke in front of a program record 13,285 fans at Harvard Stadium April 2.
