"We really looked to improve in many areas including face offs, scoring and defense and we feel that we have accomplished this and then some. Not only has our depth gone up but the athleticism and talent level of our team has made great strides." said Ernst.

The Pirates return almost their entire team from 2010 including Second Team All-SCAC players Jamie Long (Shreveport, LA-Captain Shreve) and Thomas Mock (Weatherford, TX-Trinity Christian). The Pirates have also added Rashad Devoe as strength and conditioning coach to ensure the men's lacrosse team is in the best shape possible. "Coach Devoe is a great addition to our staff. He works with teams and lacrosse players all over the country and writes a monthly article for Lacrosse Magazine. His sport specific training methods will help push the Pirates to the next level." says Coach Ernst.

The Pirates have also bolstered their schedule this year, most notably adding RPI, which was ranked #12 in the country as of the end of the 2010 season and was an NCAA tournament participant. They have also added three teams from the East Coast. They will play Christopher Newport and Randolph-Macon on an East Coast trip and will play Marymount University in Houston, TX.
