2011 Preview: Inside the Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Roster

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team is gearing up for the 2011 season. Listed below are the Falcons currently on the 2011 roster with positions, hometowns, former schools/coaches, and past accolades. The Falcons will open the season on February 19th in Hickory, N.C., taking on the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears. Pete Milliman is in his third season as head coach of the Falcons. Steve Torkington returns for his second season as assistant coach.

#23 Chris Rabung Fr. Attack 6'0" 185 lbs.
Hometown: Purcellville, VA
High School: Loudon Valley
HS Coach: Jeff Lewandowski

Chris helped lead his team to the Virginia State Championship game where they were edged out by a very good Langley Saxons team. He finished the year with 70 points which earned him Loudon Valley-First team All-District, First Team All-Region and First Team All-Metro.
Milliman: "Chris is a big kid who knows how to use his body and has great offensive potential. With two older brothers being involved in the program, we have been excited about him for a couple of years now. We think that Chris has potential to be an outstanding college lacrosse player."

#44 Rory Vannais So. Defense 6'1" 185 lbs.
Hometown: Shamong, NJ
High School: Holy Cross
HS Coach: Shane McDevitt

Rory was a captain of his team at Holy Cross High School as well as a team MVP and was selected as First Team All-South Jersey. He finished his career with 87 total points at midfield and a 66% faceoff percentage.
Milliman: "Rory is returning to the program after taking a few years off, and he has really put in some hard work to prepare for this upcoming season. We are going to try him out at defense this year and at this point it looks like it might be a great fit. He has some good face-off experience, and we are looking for him to make a big contribution at the X as well as on defense."

#26 Steve Tilmon Fr. Midfield 6'2" 176 lbs.
Hometown: Orlando, FL
High School: Timber Creek
HS Coach: Tony Moreschi

A four year varsity member, Steven had his best year as a senior scoring 42 goals and adding 34 assists for 76 points which led his team in all three categories. A senior captain earned First Team All Metro, First Team All-District and also participated in the Senior All-Star game(Central FL). A very competitive swimmer, Tilmon was First Team All Metro in addition to setting his school record in the 50 meters with a time 21.00.
Milliman: "Steven is an outstanding athlete with a ton of potential. He is one of the top midfielders from his area, and he has the ability to play both sides of the field. He has great speed and moves the ball well off the dodge. He should be a big contributor in transition offense."

#41 Hayden Kirk Fr. Goalie 5'11" 195 lbs.
Hometown: Farmingdale, NY
High School: Farmingdale
HS Coach: Bob Hartranft

A varsity captain in football as well as Lacrosse, Hayden turned his senior season into something special. An exceptional playoff run helped Farmingdale win the Nassau County Championships as Hayden was selected as the playoff's Most Valuable Goaltender. With a 69% save percentage, Hayden earned Nassau County-First Team and was selected as Thomas Clinton Award Winner, Pete Nysdad Award Winner and ESPN Rise Honorable Mention.
Milliman: "Hayden just finished an outstanding senior season and is really looking forward to continuing that at the next level. He is a motivated player and has big game potential and should compete for the starting job right away."
