Tar Heels to Meet JHU at New Meadowlands in April

BALTIMORE, MD. - The North Carolina men's lacrosse team has been invited to participate in the Konica Minolta Big City Classic at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., for the third straight year. Coach Joe Breschi's Tar Heels will take on the Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in a nationally-televised contest.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, has continued its commitment as title sponsor of two of the "must-attend" events in lacrosse, the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic and the Konica Minolta Big City Classic.

The Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic will be played on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The Konica Minolta Big City Classic will be played on Sunday, April 3 at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The 2011 Konica Minolta Big City Classic Returns to the New Meadowlands Stadium with the following lineup:

Game No. 1 - Rutgers vs. St. John's (1:00 pm)
Game No. 2 - Johns Hopkins vs. North Carolina (4:00 pm)
Game No. 3 - Duke vs. Syracuse (6:30 pm)

Last year the Konica Minolta Big City Classic broke the attendance record for a regular season, lacrosse-only event with 25,742 fans at the state of the-art New Meadowlands Stadium.

The schedule for the third edition of the Konica Minolta Big City Classic has been set. Big East neighbors Rutgers and St. John's will face off in the first game at 1:00 p.m EST. The second game will be Johns Hopkins vs. North Carolina at 4:00 p.m. The third game will feature a matchup between the 2010 NCAA Champions from Duke and 2008 and '09 champ Syracuse. The Blue Devils and Orange will face-off at 6:30 p.m. in their first regular season meeting since 1992.

Tickets for the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic and Konica Minolta Big City Classic Information on ticket packages as well as on-sale dates will be made available in October for both the Face-Off Classic and Big City Classic.
