Siena Set to Scrimmage National Powers This Weekend

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. With the 2011 season now less than four months away, the Siena men's lacrosse team will receive a key tune-up this weekend as they participate in fall scrimmages at the University of Delaware on Sunday. The Saints will take on Ohio State, Navy, and the host Blue Hens in a trio of games beginning at 11:00 a.m.

The Saints take on Navy in the opening scrimmage in a trio of games beginning at 11:00 a.m. A perennial men's lacrosse powerhouse, the Midshipmen advanced to the Patriot League Championship game this past season. Siena's second scrimmage of the day will take place against Ohio State with a 12:15 start time.

The day concludes with a big challenge against the host Blue Hens at 1:30 p.m. Delaware finished last season ranked No. 12 nationally with a 10-7 overall record and advanced to the 16-team NCAA Tournament.

Siena finished the 2010 campaign with a 12-5 record and won their third MAAC Regular Season Title in the past four years. Head coach Brian Brecht, who enters his seventh season at the helm, returns four starters from last year's squad.

Siena opens the 2011 season at defending National Champion Duke on Feb. 12.
