NYIT Lacrosse Welcomes 21 Newcomers for 2011

Tim Gay FR Midfield Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

Coach Dunn on Gay: "Gay will run midfield, and play EMO. A natural left handed player, he will compete on the first three midfields."

A two-year captain at Connetquot High School, Gay earned all-division honors as a sophomore and all-county accolades as a junior. In his senior season, the team awarded him with the Unsung Hero Award.

Dustin Goss FR Midfield Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Coach Dunn on Goss: "Goss has a good first step and a blistering shot. He has an opportunity to potentially play on our first two midfields."

Goss is a three-time all-state first team recipient and a three-time first team all-district selection from Palm Beach Gardens High School.

Michael Groover FR Midfield Freeport, N.Y.

Coach Dunn on Groover: "Groover possesses great athletic talent. He will be used as a short-stick defensive middle and on the faceoff. He could compete for a starting spot."

Groover lettered three years in lacrosse and football at Freeport High School, where he earned the Coach's Award and team MVP honors. In football, he helped Freeport to two county championships (2007, 2009) and the Long Island Championship in 2009-2010.

Joe Herman JR Midfield Seaford, N.Y.

Coach Dunn on Herman: "Herman comes to us after a two-year All-American stint at Nassau Community College. We expect him to have an immediate impact for the Bears' midfield. Using speed, physical size and athletic talent, he will be looked at as one of our leaders on offense."

Herman joins the Bears after two seasons at Nassau Community College, where he was a two-time All-American. At Seaford High School, he lettered in football, lacrosse and basketball. He earned all-county honors with football and lacrosse, and was named all-conference in basketball.

Andrew Incantalupo FR Midfield Mastic Beach, N.Y.

Coach Dunn on Incantalupo: "Andrew has a tireless work ethic. A strong dodger and shooter, he will compete to play on the offensive end of field and with the EMO unit."

Incantalupo lettered three seasons at William Floyd High School, where he earned all-county honors in 2009-2010, and was named the team's MVP as a senior.

Chris Lubin Grad. Student Attack Syosset, N.Y.

Coach Dunn on Lubin: "Lubin brings a wealth of experience to our attack. A graduate of Lehigh University, he will QB our offense, with a keen sense of finding the open man, being an excellent feeder."

While at Syosset High School, Lubin captained his team during his senior season and earned all-county honors. He was also named the 2006 Nassau County Attackman of the Year and a high school All-American.

J.P. Lupetin FR Midfield Wantagh, N.Y.

Coach Dunn on Lupetin: "Lupetin will have a role on our defensive midfield. We will look to use his speed and experience to solidify that unit."

Lupetin was the recipient of the Wantagh High School's Unsung Hero award in 2006.

Fred Mase FR Attack Levittown, N.Y.

Coach Dunn on Mase: "Mase is a crafty attackman who scored many goals in high school. He will have the opportunity to compete at attack and midfield."

Mase joins the Bears from Division Avenue High School, where he earned all-county honors as a junior and season. He also played football for the Blue Dragons and was named all-conference in 2009.
