Occidental College Adds 10 Recruits to the 2011 Roster

LOS ANGELES, CA – Occidental College Head Coach Michele Uhlfelder announced today the addition of 10 standout student - athletes to the Tigers Women's Lacrosse program for the 2011 season.

Uhlfelder on the first year Tigers: "I am thrilled that we are joined by such an energetic and committed group of freshman! Each has lettered in more than one sport, so we are excited about their athleticism and the depth that they bring. They represent five different states and one foreign country, which make them a dynamic and exciting group. All of our student - athletes are pioneers for playing a major role in the establishment of our program. We are excited about our freshman's ability to add to our mission and put Oxy on the lacrosse map."

Coming to Occidental are Jennifer Arana (Los Angeles, CA/Manual Arts), Rebecca Belding (Burlingame, CA/Burlingame), Mara Dauber (Santa Fe, NM, Santa Fe), Alison Dinielli (Westover, CT/Westover), Emily Fowler (Palo Alto, CA/Palo Alto), Alexandra Hennig (Hong Kong, China/Shawnigan Lake), Victoria Larson (Denver, CO/Denver School of Science & Technology), Mary Morrissey (Amesbury, MA/The Governors' Academy), Fiona Hall - Roulac (Kentfield, CA/Marin Catholic) and Abagail Williams (Lexington, MA/Cushing Academy).

Jennifer Arana - Midfield - Los Angeles, CA/Manual Arts High School
Manual Arts High School: Varsity Letter winner senior year…four - year letter winner in Volleyball…participated in the Lax In LA organization.

The daughter of Daney Santana she has two brothers Frederick (28), Regan (22) and one sister Claudia (24) and is majoring in Studio Art.

Rebecca Belding - Midfield - Burlingame, Ca/Burlingame High School
Burlingame High School: Three year varsity letter winner…2009 & 2010 Academic All American ... 2008, 2009 & 2010 first team all league ... 2008 & 2010 Burlingame High School varsity offensive player of the year…Played on the Bay Area Wave Club Team…Also played soccer: 2 year letter winner…2008 second team all league, 2009 California Central Coast Section Champions.

The daughter of Kate and Patrick Belding, she has a brother Merrick (17) and is planning to major in Urban and Environmental Policy.

Mara Dauber - Midfield – Santa Fe High School/Santa Fe, New Mexico
Santa Fe Lacrosse: Four - year varsity letter winner in lacrosse ... captain senior year ... also played soccer: four - year varsity letter winner ... captain senior year ... All - District team '08 - '10 in soccer ... Santa Fe High School honor roll '07 - '10.

The daughter of Dennis and Kate Dauber, she has one brother, Galen (31), and is majoring in Diplomacy and World Affairs.

Allison Dinielli - Midfield - Westport, CT/Westover School
Westover School: Two year varsity letter winner in Lacrosse ... Honor roll, Spanish Club President, Students for a Free Tibet Club President ... also was a 4 year letter winner on Varsity Volleyball team.

The daughter of William Dinielli, who rowed for Trinity College, and Susan Dinielli, who attended Trinity College, she has a sister, Hannah (12) and plans to major in Diplomacy and World Affairs.

Emily Fowler – Midfield – Palo Alto, Ca./ Palo Alto High School
Palo Alto High School: Helped start the girls' lacrosse program in 2008… led lacrosse team to win the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League in 2010… three - year varsity player… earned second team all - league in 2009 and first team all - league in 2010… also ran cross country…Played on the Bay Area Wave Club Team.
