Marist Begins Annual Project Mobile at Hagan Elementary

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. Nine members of the Marist men's lacrosse and women's water polo teams spent Monday morning at Hagan Elementary School in Poughkeepsie to begin the third annual Project Mobile program.

Junior Zach Badalucco (Brewster, N.Y.), freshman Jesse Brown (Cortland, N.Y.), junior R.J. Discher (Randolph, N.J.), sophomore Matt Dugan (Cortland, N.Y.), freshman Joe Dupra (Pittsford, N.Y.), sophomore Aedan Herman (Stafford, Va.) and senior Corey Zindel (Randolph, N.J.) of the men's lacrosse team were on hand for the first session of the year.

On selected dates, Marist student-athletes go to Hagan Elementary to read with students. Following the reading session, the student-athletes head to the playground to partake in various sports with the elementary school students.

The program is a partnership which is coordinated by the Marist Center for Student-Athlete Enhancement staff members Cammie Jones and Matt Francis, in conjunction with Colleen Drummond of Spackenkill Central School District.

The Marist men's lacrosse team begins the 2011 season on Saturday, Feb. 19 at Delaware. The game time has yet to be announced. The women's water polo season schedule has yet to be announced.
