Beriau Named Colby Lacrosse Asst. Coach

WATERVILLE, Maine -- David Beriau, who played collegiate lacrosse for Elmira College of the Empire 8 Conference, will be the new Colby College men's assistant lacrosse coach for first-year head coach Justin Domingos.

Beriau was an assistant coach for Falmouth (Mass.) Academy last spring and helped the team win the Southeastern New England Independent Schools Athletic Association (SENEISAA) league title for the first time in eight years. Falmouth Academy, a small co-ed private school on Cape Cod, finished the season at 10-4.

Beriau is a 2009 graduate of Elmira where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. He was a four-year player for the Soaring Eagles and finished his career with six goals, 19 assists, and 83 groundballs. Beriau practiced and played at attack, midfield, defensive midfield, man-up, man-down, and goalie during his Elmira career.

A team co-captain during his senior year at Elmira, Beriau earned the Elmira Men's Lacrosse Teammate Award in 2006 and helped the Soaring Eagles earn the Empire 8 Conference Team Sportsmen of the Year honor.

Beriau played high school varsity lacrosse at Sandwich (Mass.) High School from 2003-05. He was a volunteer assistant coach at Sandwich High in 2010. He also was a club coach for Indoor Action Sports.

Colby will open the season at home against Williams College on Saturday, March 12, at 1:00 p.m.
