Sam Houston State Introduces New Head Coach
Sam Houston State University has announced that Jim Perouty has become the team's new head coach. The Bearkats, members of the MCLA, are the defending Divisoin II champions of the Lone Star Alliance.
A Baltimore, Maryland native, Perouty played for Salisbury University and was a member of the Sea Gulls' first NCAA playoff team. He previously served as head coach of the American Lacrosse League champion Towson Gunners as well as head coach of the Rice University Fighting Owls.
The MCLA Division II 20th-ranked Sam Houston State Bearkats are off to a 2-0 start in 2011, with convincing wins over the Centenary College Gents and the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns.
