Finger Lakes 2011 Lacrosse Season Preview

The 2011 season finds the Finger Lakes Community College Men's Lacrosse team with 31 players on the roster and looking to turn around the misfortune of a tough season a year ago.

Leading the way in goal for the Lakers will be sophomore Nick Sabia (Canandaigua, NY) and freshman John Perruci (Myrtle Beach, SC). Sabia led the NJCAA in saves a year ago.

Defensively the Lakers are led by the following freshmen: Chris Tauterouff (Canandaigua, NY), Sam Carlton (Tully, NY), Luke Kelly (Webster, NY) and Shane Duplessis (Oswego, NY) along with sophomore Schuyler Whitney (Canandaigua, NY).

At the midfield the following student athletes look to have a big impact for the Lakers. Jack Nadeau (Durham, New Hampshire), Chris Tapscott (Geneva, NY), Parker Weeks (Canandaigua, NY). Weeks will handle the faceoff duties for the Lakers. Jurrell Thompson (Gorham, NY), Steve Campianello (Rochester, NY), Dom Diduro (Geneva, NY) and Shane Dobies (Canandaigua, NY) will all have a large impact at the midfield for the Lakers. All the before mentioned 7 midfielders are freshmen.

The attack is led by returning sophomore Andy Campos (Los Angeles, CA) 35 goals and 45 assists last season. Joining him this year will be freshmen Kieran Gallagher (St. Paul, MN), Brian Eckam (Rochester, NY), and Josh Taylor (Calgary, Alberta).
