Q&A With McCallie (TN) Boys' Coach Troy Kemp

Stick skills and coaching have improved tremendously over the past decade. In the 90s, the best athletes always won. The game was more physical than mental. Now, you have to move the ball quickly and make adjustments on the fly to counter complex defensive schemes. More players are also participating in exposure events and travel teams. Our guys are playing faster as a result."

What are your overall goals for McCallie in 2011?

"The goal is to win as many games as we can, but improve along the way. When we get down to the back end of the season, the physical and mental maturity should put us in a position to compete for a title, but we got to get there first. I'll put our money on us, though. We'll be prepared."
