Adams Scores Seven Goals as Titans Roll Past Mercer

The Titans will return to action next Sunday, March 6, in a lacrosse doubleheader at Titan Field. First the women will take on UC Davis at 11:00 a.m., and that will be followed with the men hosting Lehigh at 2:00 p.m.

PONTIAC, Mich. – Mercer's men's lacrosse team allowed six goals in each of the first two quarters en route to a 19-3 loss at Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon. The setback drops the Bears to 0-5 in their inaugural season.

Cole Branch scored two of Mercer's goals in the game, upping his total to five on the year. Branch also assisted on Alex Baird's goal to give him three “helps” on the year and a team-leading eight total points.

Baird has a team-high six goals after Saturday's loss. MU goalkeeper Justin Bateman went the entire 60 minutes in the nets. He collected 18 saves.

Detroit Mercy out-shot the Bears by a nearly 2-to-1 margin, 51-26. The hosts also won 16 of the 26 faceoffs in the contest.
