Hannah Khin Propels Goucher Past Ohio Wesleyan
TOWSON, Md. – A five-goal, two-assist performance from Hannah Khin propelled Goucher to a 12-4 victory over Ohio Wesleyan Friday night.
Khin put the Gophers (2-2) up 1-0 by scoring his first goal just :26 into the contest and her goal off a free-position shot snapped a 2-2 tie midway through the first half and put Goucher ahead to stay.
The Gophers, who finished with a 44-17 advantage in shots, tallied the final four goals of the first half and the first two goals of the second half, taking an 8-2 lead on an unassisted goal by Mary Lambert with 23:06 left to play.
Lambert and Becca Smith supplied the victorious Gophers with two goals apiece, while Annie Swanson stuck a pair of goals for the Battling Bishops (0-1).
Both starting goalies played all 60 minutes. Ohio Wesleyan's Laura Van Hoey was credited with 22 saves, while Ashley Shaner of the Gophers turned away eight shots.
