Keuka Rallies to Win Opener at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Keuka College sent Shenandoah University down to its third straight men's lacrosse defeat Saturday afternoon with an 11-5 non-league victory.

Shenandoah (0-3) rebounded from an early two-goal deficit to take a 3-2 lead by the end of the first period, but could only watch as the Storm (1-0) rallied.

Keuka scored seven of the game's nine goals in the second and third periods, including six straight from the 2:46 mark of the second until 3:07 remained in the third.

Junior Gregory Love finally snapped the Hornets scoreless string with his unassisted goal at 2:13 of the third.

Love's classmate, Sean Mack, paced SU in the scoring column with two goals while Love had a goal and an assist.

SU outshot the Storm, 31-30, while Keuka had a 37-29 advantage in groundballs.

Hornets goalkeeper Andrew Fleischmann had 10 saves.

Shenandoah is back in action on Wednesday at 3:30 with a non-league game against future ODAC opponent Randolph-Macon.
