Shepherd Outguns Wilmington, 22-17

WILMINGTON, Del. – Freshman attack/midfielder Shannon Carta (Davidsonville, MD/South River) scored seven goals and sophomore attack Nicole Ruane (Sykesville, MD/Century) added six to lift Shepherd to an 22-17 win over Wilmington at Wilmington on Saturday afternoon. Shepherd posted its third straight win of the season and surpassed its win total from last season.

Sophomore attack/midfielder Krista Tippett (Leonardtown, MD/Leonardtown) gave a strong effort at the draw controls for the Rams and had three assists. Freshman attack Christina Ferrara (California, MD/Leonardtown) tallied three goals and had a pair of assists.

Shepherd improves to 3-0, while Wilmington falls to 0-1. The Rams return to action on Monday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
