Colorado College Rallies Past Swarthmore

COLORADO SPRING, Colo. - In a back-and-forth contest from the opening whistle, homestanding Colorado College rallied from a two-goal halftime deficit to hand the Swarthmore College women's lacrosse team its first defeat of the season, 13-11, on Wednesday afternoon from Colorado Springs.

Sophomore Annalise Penikis was the Garnet's offensive star once again, scoring five goals for the second-consecutive game to lead the team. Freshman Corinne Sommi added a hat trick while Nicole Vanchieri, Marie Mutryn and Annelise Mowry also found the back of the net.

After a goal from Vanchieri in the first three minutes of the second half, Swat extended its lead to 8-5. But the Tigers responded in a big way, scoring seven of the game's next eight goals over a 20-minute span to take control of the contest.
