#17 St. John Fisher Scores First 11, Downs Brockport

Seventeenth-ranked St. John Fisher College moved to 5-0 on the year, as the Cardinals scored the game's first 11 goals and posted a 12-6 win over visiting SUNY College at Brockport on Tuesday in men's lacrosse action at Fisher's Growney Stadium.

Fisher took control early, leading 6-0 after the first quarter and pushed its lead to 8-0 by halftime.

Connor Henderson gave Fisher the lead for good with 12:04 left in the first quarter. Less than 30 seconds later, Mitch Ritchie scored his first of three goals on the day. The Cardinals pushed their lead to 5-0 after goals by Eric Klein, David Haseley and Ritchie, all of which came in a 1:19 span midway through the first.

Fisher scored the first three goals of the second half to take an 11-0 lead midway through the third quarter, before Brockport scored six of the game's final seven goals.

Ryan Schmidt and Kyle Denhoff each finished with two goals and one assist, while Henderson totaled three points on one goal and two assists. Ryan Leonard and Mike Byrnes also scored in the win, while Michael Utz and Paul Leonhard assisted on a goal.

Erich Rassow went 13 for 20 on faceoffs and led Fisher with five ground balls. Matt McShea stopped seven shots in just under 51 minutes of action in net and recorded his fifth win of the season.

Fisher will return to action at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at SUNY Oneonta.
