Mercy Routs Wilmington to Improve to 4-1
Eight different players scored as Mercy College beat the University of Wilmington (Del.) 13-6 on Tuesday afternoon. Mercy is now 4-1 on the season, while Wilmington is 2-2.
Freshman Tracey Wandle (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) had three goals on the day, including two from the free position. Sophomores Julie Darnulc (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) and Kelsey Sullivan (Mastic, N.Y./Eastport South Manor) each had two goals, as did freshman Kelsey Bub (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas).
In goal, sophomore keeper Stephanie DiLegge (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) made eight saves.
Up next for the Mavericks is a 1:00 p.m. game against Assumption College on Saturday, March 19.
