Swarthmore Explodes on Offense to Rout Immaculata

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - It was another game, another double-digit win for Swarthmore, as the Garnet (4-1, 0-0) scored the first 14 goals of the game and never looked back, easily defeating visiting Immaculata, 18-2, on Thursday evening from Clothier Field Stadium.

Nine different players found the back of the net for Swarthmore, led by four-goal performances from junior Annelise Mowry and sophomore Annalise Penikis (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven). Freshman Corinne Sommi had an outstanding all-around game, finishing with a game-high four assists, while adding a hat trick.

Senior Emily Evans netted a pair of goals while junior Marie Mutryn, junior Maddie Williams (Kennett Square, Kennett), junior Phoebe Hansen, sophomore Beth Martin and sophomore Sam Panepinto all scored to round out the Garnet's dynamic offensive showing. In goal, freshman Michelle Ammerman made three saves.

Swarthmore has now won three consecutive games, all by at least 11 goals. Swarthmore opens Centennial Conference play on Saturday when it hosts Ursinus at noon.
