Girls' Lacrosse: Weekend Preview for March 18-20

2010 Florida semifinalist Winter Springs looks to get back on track this weekend against Lake Mary after hitting a few speed bumps in the early going. The Bears have already suffered losses to state powers Lake Highland Prep, Vero Beach and Lake Brantley, but are still considered one of Florida's elite teams. A solid victory over a talented Lake Mary team would certainly go a long way towards the team getting back to its winning ways. Plus, with upcoming games against unbeaten Olympia, Pine Crest and Park Vista, a win on Friday is essential for the Bears.

And turning to West Coast action, St. Francis-Sacramento is raising eyebrows in California after a 5-0 start to the season. The Troubies notched an impressive 15-14 win over Berkeley (4-1) last Friday and can make headlines once again with a win over California High School (3-2) on Saturday. After back-to-back losses to St. Ignatius Prep and Acalanes, California responded with a 12-9 win over a tough Miramonte (4-1) squad. Both teams match up well, so expect a close affair.
