NEW HAVEN, Conn. Sophomores Sarah Boucher and Heather Rosen scored seven goals apiece Thursday afternoon at Jess Dow Field, as Queens College (4-2) scored a 20-7 road victory at Southern Connecticut (0-2).

Boucher led all players with five ground balls, while also adding two caused turnovers. Rosen picked up one assist and three draw controls, while Meghan Monahan registered three goals, as many draw controls, and one assist. Queens scored the first six goals of the game over a 13:17 stretch, with Boucher picking up a hat trick under 12 minutes in. Three straight goals by the host Owls cut their deficit to a 7-4 count with 10:49 left in the half, before eight straight goals by the Knights helped the visitors to a 15-5 halftime lead.

Scoring was at a premium in the second half, as QC scored the first four goals of the stanza over a 16-plus minute stretch.

Sophomore goalie Kahli Evans made six of her nine saves in the second half for Queens, as the defense held SCSU to a 1 for 6 output on free-position shots.

Head coach Kerry Hausdorf's QC team now has a 10-day layoff, and is back in action March 27, when it travels to Annapolis, Md., for a 2:00 p.m. neutral-site face-off against Pfeiffer.
