Greensboro Shuts out Methodist

Greensboro, NC -- The Pride shut out conference foe Methodist University, 21-0, on St. Patricks Day at Pride Field. Ashley Nolen (Lothian, MD/Southern) led all scorers with eight points, on five goals and three assists. Jessica Catanzano (Seaford, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) earned her first shutout of the season.

GC (4-3, 1-1 USAS) scored 16 times on 17 shots in the first half en route to the conference victory. Melissa Gallaher (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) added four goals, three assists, and five draw controls to lead the midfield.

Kendra Allbritton (Lake Mary, FL/Lake Mary ) added three goals, and five ground balls for Greensboro. Lauren Gilman (Greensboro, NC/Page) stepped in for the second half, and preserved the shutout with three saves.

Jasmine Stephens led the Monarchs with three shots, and four draw controls.

The Pride return to action when the host Frostburg State University on Saturday at Pride Field. Game time is 1:00 pm. Last season, GC lost in overtime to FSU.
