Knights Lose Heartbreaker to Saint Michael's in OT

Laurinburg, N.C. The Lady Knights (1-7, 0-1) took to the field on Thursday to face off against The Purple Knights of Saint Michaels College (1-4). This proved to be a back and forth battle as both teams made runs and gave each other their absolute best shot finding the game at stalemate, tied at 10-10 at the end of regulation.

Both teams came out running on fumes, but refusing to give in as the battle ensued. Saint Michaels scored the first goal of overtime, but the Knights of St. Andrews answered right back with a score of their own, tying the game up again at 11-11. Then with the clock counting down, Saint Michaels was able to find the net again and deliver the upset with the Knights losing 12-11.

Sophomore Megan Jolly (Waterloo, NY) led the Knights with four goals and one assist while Senior Kim McDaniel (Joppa, MD) added three goals of her own. Others who contributed for the Knights were Sophomore Victoria Bickett (Louisville, KY) who had 2 goals, Seniors Shana Schroeder (Newark, NY) and Allie Faulhaber (Apex, N.C.) added one goal each.

Junior Anna Egeln (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) showed her hustle while she collected seven groundballs. The Knights take to the field next on Saturday when they travel south the Savannah, GA to play The Savannah College of Art and Design, game starting at 4:00 p.m.
