No. 7 Colby Routs Eastern Connecticut in Florida

CLERMONT, Fla. -- The seventh-ranked Colby College women's lacrosse team had a breather on the first game of the three-game Florida trip with an easy 18-3 win over Eastern Connecticut State University on Sunday.

The Mules were coming off a tough 11-10 come-from-behind win over 12th-ranked Tufts University at Colby's Bill Alfond Field on Friday. Next up for Colby (4-0) is a 10:00 a.m. non-conference game with Union College on Tuesday.

First-year midfielder Kirsten Karis led Colby with three goals and one assist and Anne Geraghty had a pair of goals as the Mules had 15 players score. Katie Griffin, Claire Donegan, Casey Thomas, and Lane McVey each had one goal and one assist.

Sarah Lux, Tess Petesch, Lexi Crook, Alex Mintz, Ali Iannotti, Kate Pistel, and Catherine Kahl all had one goal. Meanwhile, Dori McAuliffe and Katharine Eddy each scored their first collegiate goals. Kate Gragnolati chipped in with two assists and Hilary Barr had one assist.

Colby scored seven goals in the first 10 minutes of the game and led 12-0 at intermission. The Mules led 18-1 before ECSU scored the final two goals of the contest.
