Lady Knights Run Wild at Savannah

Savannah, GA The Lady Knights (2-7,0-1) drove south down I-95 to face off with the Bees of the Savannah College of Art & Design (3-3) on Saturday for some good old fashioned Lacrosse action. The weekend proved to be kind for the Lady Knights as they dominated the game enroute to their second win of the season.

SCAD came out and put the first goal in the net four minutes and fifteen seconds into the game, which lit a fire under the Knights and propelled them to five to one run with five different Knights scoring making the score 5-2 at the half.

St. Andrews kept applying suffocating pressure in the second half as well, and continued shooting with pin point accuracy scoring goal after goal. The Knights put up four quick unanswered goals to start off the second half and seemed to never look back including two from Senior Brett Vyverberg (Pittsford, NY) within the first five minutes. St. Andrews then went on to trade goals with the Bees throughout the game bringing it to a final score of 13-7 securing a Knights win.

The Knights had several hot hands including Seniors Kim McDaniel (Joppa, MD) who had three goals and a team high four assists and Allie Faulhaber(Apex, NC) who netted three goals and had three assists of her own. Also adding to the Knights scoring barrage were both Brett Vyverberg (Pittsford, NY) and Sophomore Victoria Bickett (Louisville, KY) who both had two goals each, and Seniors Hope Beatson (Virginia Beach, VA), Chelsea Ross (Newark, NY), and Sophomore Megan Jolly (Waterloo, NY) each added a goal themselves. The Lady Knights will take to the field at Queens University of Charlotte Wednesday, March 23 at 6:30 p.m.
