Jesuit Classic Headlines Recent Boys' Action

In other notable games from around the country this weekend, St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) improved to 6-0 overall with a 9-8 win over Pine Crest on Friday in a key District 14 showdown in the Sunshine State. In Texas action, an upstart Houston Christian squad improved to 10-0 after an 18-9 win over East Lake. The team will certainly have a tough task on Tuesday, however, as they face-off against The Woodlands (6-2).

On the East Coast, Haverford School edged McDonogh, 12-10, in a battle of perennial national powers on Saturday. Conor Kelly notched 18 saves for the Fords while Hup Hupfeldt fueled a second-half charge with three goals in the third quarter. Staying in the Keystone State, coach David Metzbower got his first victory as a high school head coach as Malvern Prep downed Loyola-Blakefield, 9-7.

Meanwhile, Severn defeated St. Anne's-Belfield, 11-8, St. Paul's beat a tough Avon Old Farms team, 14-5, and St. Mary's Annapolis downed Landon, 7-3, to round out some of the weekend's best contests.
