Western New England Shuts Out Regis

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Senior attacker Jeanmarie Barbato (Huntington Station, NY) had a five-point outing with three goals and two assists as Western New England blanked visiting Regis 18-0 in the snow Wednesday afternoon (Mar. 23).

This was The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) opener for the Golden Bears, who evened their record at 3-3. The Pride falls to 1-4 and 0-2 in the conference.

Thirteen players scored goals with senior defender Nicole Poli (Medfield, MA) and sophomore defender Jillian Saley (Stratford, CT) each contributing two goals and two assists.

Senior attacker Nicole Squadrito (Ellington, CT) also scored twice while sophomore defender Gina Johnson (Portland, ME) had a goal and two assists.

Senior Erin Doherty (Westford, MA) came off the bench and made two saves in 48 minutes, 40 seconds to earn her first victory of the season.

Western New England led 15-0 at halftime and had a 29-5 advantage in shots.

Freshman midfielder Teresa Busiek (Arlington, MA) led Regis with four caused turnovers, four ground balls, and three draw controls.
