Centenary Crushes Rosemont in CSAC Play

ROSEMONT, Pa. (March 25, 2011) Junior Danielle Bay (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) tallied a season-high nine points to lead Centenary (2-1, 1-0 CSAC) to a 19-3 win over Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Rosemont (0-5, 0-3 CSAC), Friday in Rosemont, Pa.

The Cyclones took 39 shots and limited the Ravens to 10. CC benefited from 25 Rosemont turnovers and recorded 39 groundballs to RC's 24. Centenary also led in draw controls, 16-7.

Bay scored six goals and recorded three assists as nine Cyclones tallied at least one point. Junior Meredith Bruce (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) finished with six points on three goals and three assists and fellow classmate Hannah Ally (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) scored a career-high five goals.

Sophomores Allie Swartz (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) and Nicole Judd (St. Louis, Mo./Lafayette Senior) finished with two goals and one assist and one goal and one assist, respectively. Bruce and Judd tied for the team lead with five groundballs apiece and Bay tallied seven draw controls.

Junior goalie Brittany Young (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) got the start and recorded four saves to get the win.

Centenary returns to action on Wednesday, March 30, with a home game against CSAC foe Neumann at 4:00 p.m.
