Anderson Nets Eight as #6 Stonehill Downs Bentley

EASTON, Mass. Senior attack Hannah Anderson had a career-high eight goals to lead the sixth-ranked Stonehill women's lacrosse team to a 21-5 victory over Bentley University in Northeast-10 action Tuesday afternoon at W.B. Mason Stadium.

Anderson had five goals in the first half to help the Skyhawks build a 10-3 halftime advantage, and she finished her career-day with three in the second half.

Bentley's Cori Geiger (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) scored the game's first goal, unassisted, 3:33 into the game. Stonehill sophomore Kayla Green tied the game just 26 seconds later, which was the start of a 6-0 Skyhawk run, with Anderson scoring three times during the run.

Geiger and freshman Chelsea Larivee (Amherst, N.H./Souheagan) scored back-to-back goals for Bentley to make the score 7-3 with 4:25 left in the half, but Stonehill scored the last three goals of the half, with Anderson getting two of them in the last 24 seconds.

After Stonehill netted two straight goals to open the second 30 minutes, junior Torre Taylor (Locust Valley, N.Y./Friends Academy) found the back of the net to make it 12-4, the closest Bentley would be the rest of the game. After Taylor's goal, Stonehill went on 5-0 run to put the game out of reach.

The Skyhawks improve to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the NE-10 with the win, while the Falcons are now 2-4 and 1-2 in conference play. Their next game is Friday at AIC at 6:00 p.m.
