Krechel Scores 100th as Dutchmen Roll by Misericordia

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hana Krechel became the first player in program history to score 100 career goals as Lebanon Valley rolled past Misericordia, 19-12, in MAC action on Tuesday.

The Dutchmen (3-3, 2-1 MAC) blew open a two-goal game with an 8-0 run in the second half to drop a pesky Cougars (2-6, 0-5 MAC) that opened the second half with three goals in a 1:57 span.

Krechel scored seven with two assists and also grabbed six draw controls to lead LVC. The sophomore, who reached 100 career points last week at Susquehanna, hit her 100th goal with her sixth of the game late in the first half. She achieved the milestone in just her 21st career game.

Lindsey Buckman added five goals, while Christy Wilson and Taylor Kruter added two apiece for the Valley; Allison McGinniss, Mel Modrick, and Kaitlin Montgomery had goals as well.

Emily Foley paced MU with seven goals, and LVC's defense did well to contain their leading scorer Kate Pagnotta, who entered the game with 22 goals but was held to a single late score.

LVC held big advantages on shots (33-24) and draw controls (19-14), and LVC's transition defense was outstanding, holding the Cougars to just 8 of 22 clear attempts.

Lebanon Valley started the game on a 6-0 run, but MU pulled it back to end the half down 11-6 before Catie Viegas and Foley combined for three goals in the opening 1:57 of the second half to make it an 11-9 game.

Foley was then hit with a yellow card, and LVC managed to reel off three goals in that span, first as Buckman scored from the arc and then as Modrick and Kruter scored their first career goals back-to-back, all in a 1:28 span. That sparked an 8-0 run overall by LVC to take full control, and they effectively held possession and worked the stall in the final 15 minutes to win as they built up a 10-goal cushion.

LVC combined all three goalies for six saves, with Corinne Palombo earning the win with four stops; Colleen Hunt took the loss with eight saves for MU.

The Dutchmen will visit Arcadia on Saturday.
